After enjoying the last time-lapse painting so much, I decided to create another one for the next painting in my postcard series. This is a painting of the Büyük Saat, or the Big Clock, in Adana, Turkey. The clocktower is a historic landmark completed in 1882 and standing 32 meters tall. Located in an older area of the city, it is surrounded by narrow streets lined with shops and venders.
To start the painting, I first gathered my materials: watercolors, a palette for mixing the colors on, a glass of water, a paper towel, and of course, two paintbrushes. I already had the scene lightly sketched out on the watercolor paper.
I worked section by section, starting with the sky, the road, and the clocktower itself. Then I painted the building in the back as well as the small horse and cart, and then I painted the rows of shops on the left side. I finished up with the shops on the right side and any finishing touches.

Love the detail on the top of Buyuk Saat! Amazing! You should do more of the iconic sights in Adana before you move. Then you can make prints and sell them! Ellerinize sağılık canım!
