Gray days - Lettering

I've created a lot of art inspired by the views in Istanbul. On beautiful clear days, we can see all the way to the water. Occasionally we get gorgeous sunsets over the hill. The city lights sparkle at night out my window. But what amazes me is that even the gray days have a certain beauty to them. I love looking out the window and seeing how far I can see - sometimes it's so foggy that I can barely see across the street! I love sticking my head out the window to smell the rain and feel it on my hand. I love watching the seagulls flying through the clouds and getting carried by the wind. I love tracing the raindrops down the window.
I had already done a lettering piece inspired by the nighttime view.

So now I decided to do one about the gray days. I worked on toned gray paper with black and white charcoal to achieve the hazy look of gray days. I featured a flying seagull in the foreground, with the skyline in the background. Another thing I love about cloudy days is the way the tower's lights shine through the clouds.
Here's the finished piece!
