A Home Behind, a Home Ahead

This past week has brought major changes for my family and I. For the past couple months we've been looking for a house, making preparations, and packing everything up. And last week, on June 4th, the time came for our entire house to be packed up on a truck and sent to a new city—from Adana to Istanbul. We left behind a house that had been ours for the past 9 years, and a city that was our home for the past 13 years.
Those 13 years were filled with memories of the people and places in Adana. The friends, the neighbors, the sights to see, the food. The city holds most of my memories growing up—where I lost my first tooth, where I started school, where I learned guitar. Being such a big part of my life, the city also provided the inspiration or setting for a lot of my artwork. Some are simply drawings of different rooms in the house, while some are landmarks around or just outside the city.

All this we left behind.
Yet up ahead lay a new city. A new house. And with that comes new friends and new neighbors. New sights and new foods. New places to observe and draw and paint. New places to inspire me. New places to capture in a work of art.
A new place to call home.
Love Love Love this... I know all of the places and things in your artwork, and it makes me homesick! Lovely lovely work! Blessings as you make these changes.
